The champagne is on ice, the cosy fire is roaring, the tasteful lighting gives the room a beautiful warm glow. Your holiday home is filled with laughter and you’re ready to ring in 2023 surrounded by the people you love.
Sounds tempting? New Year is the perfect time to combine a holiday with a celebration. But how do you decide on a location and – most importantly – how can you ensure that your vacation rental lives up to expectations?
Introducing Chart House, Tenby
When we renovated our Tenby holiday home we knew it had to be more than just a summer seaside let. The house is only a few yards from the town’s award-winning beaches, but it’s also super close to the town centre with all its shops and restaurants that stay open throughout the year.
We were determined to design an interior that offered luxurious and versatile accommodation for winter getaways as well as summer holidays. As a Grade II listed townhouse, Chart House is a unique property laid out over several floors. This means it’s very spacious while retaining an intimate, cosy feel. The coal-effect gas fires in each of the sitting rooms along with underfloor heating in the kitchen and dining areas ensure it’s always warm and snug, even when the weather is frosty outside.
Light up your life
Ever booked a holiday cottage that looks beautiful in daylight, but suddenly seems sad and un-homely once evening sets in? Stark overhead lighting with just the odd gloomy side light can really spoil the atmosphere of your holiday rental.
At Chart House, we’ve worked hard to get the lighting just right. There are plenty of wall lights and table lamps to create a soft, welcoming ambience as you sip your bubbly and relax into our sofas. We’ve chosen designer lamps and shades from award-winning brands such as Jim Lawrence Lighting and Original BTC.
Cook up a storm
As a large self-catering holiday let, Chart House lends itself brilliantly to New Year gatherings. The kitchen has been fully renovated with all the latest appliances including Bosch gas hob and electric oven. It’s equipped with everything you could need to cook up a festive feast, and the open plan dining room has a table large enough for parties of up to ten.
If cooking isn’t your thing, there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways close by. Visit Around Tenby for full listings of pubs, bars and restaurants in the area.
In-house entertainment for friends and family
Keeping everyone entertained can be a bit of a challenge during winter staycations. We’ve got that covered. On the very top floor of Chart House is a games room that’s a perfect chill-out zone for older children and teenagers. The room has beanbag seating, a 55-inch Smart TV, PS4 games console and soundbar.
The two sitting rooms also have Smart TVs, and throughout the house the WiFi connection is excellent. So you can watch your favourite shows and movies on Netflix and other streaming services.
Board games seem to be more popular than ever – especially during the festive season – so we’ve also provided a variety of traditional games for everyone to enjoy.
Blow away the cobwebs with a New Year’s Day walk
Chart House is just yards from Tenby’s stunning beaches, which we think are equally as beautiful in the winter as they are in the summer. At low tide you can walk for several miles along the sands, taking in the dramatic Pembrokeshire coastline and the fascinating variety of wildlife including grey seals and winter migrating birds.

Whether you’re looking to book for New Year itself or a winter escape in 2023, Tenby has so much to offer. Chart House is one of the largest holiday lets in the town, and it’s dog-friendly accommodation too. We’re proud to have received some amazing reviews from our guests.
